Having been a crafter for many years I understand the need and desire for crafters to use patterns to produce handmade things for local shows. With that thought in mind, and the fact that I expect you will follow the copyrights of the designer, I do grant permission for crafters to make and sell finished items under the following guidelines.
All I ask in return is that you respect the copyrights of the artist and abide by these requests and as a courtesy please don’t share the files from classes or patterns with anyone.
Alot of work goes into preparing a pattern, taking all the photos and putting it all together. Please respect Studio-259 copyrights and refer anyone who likes our pattern to Studio-259 to purchase patterns for themselves.
What you can do
- You may personally make and sell items up, to 10 bags per year, to sell at local bazaars, craft shows and fundraisers. Anything over that amount you must contact Studio-259 for a yearly license.
- The yearly license fee is $25 and it allows you to make up to 25 additional pattern items per year for sale. If you require anything additional you must contact us.
- You may print patterns and directions as needed for your own personal use.
You may submit finished items from the Studio-259 classes or patterns to quilt shows, art shows, contests, as long as credit is given to Studio-259 as the pattern designer.
What you can’t do
- You may not sell or publicize for sale any finished items from the Studio-259 classes or patterns, anywhere on the internet.
You may not mass produce, commercially produce or pay others to make any items from any patterns or classes from Studio-259, without the artist permission.
You may not teach, share, reproduce or resell patterns or classes from Studio-259 .
You may not submit finished items from the Studio-259 classes or patterns to magazines, books or other publications.
What you must do
- * All items for sale made from Studio-259 patterns and classes must have
- “ from (The pattern name) by Studio-259, Michelle Verbeeck designs" printed on a label or tag anywhere they are offered for sale or submitted to a show or contest.
* Sharing files with others
is a copyright violation
* Selling handmade items
based on any pattern without permission from the artist
is also a copyright violation.
* Claiming any pattern or derivative thereof is also a violation
* Artists derive their income
from the artistic things they create, to use an image,
pattern, class files etc
without permission
is a violation.
